Head Shakin'
In recent weeks, Cole has learned to shake his head. You will find him shaking his head when you ask him a question, if there is music on, if Jim is playing the piano, or for no reason at all. He loves it. We caught a bit of his head shaking action while at Red Robin the other day.

Cole and his little baby walker
For Christmas we bought, I mean Santa brought Cole this toy that he can sit and play music on. It also has wheels so that he can learn to walk with it. He is so cute when he tries to walk with it because he looks like a little old man pushing around a walker, only missing the tennis balls at the bottom. Unfortunately, the wheels don't have a thing so that we can change the resistance so the toy often goes faster than the boy. Here's some video footage of him. My apologies about the video Mom, as I was standing and moving when I was video taping it so it might make you sick.
And in other news, Cole reached new heights with his personal best of climbing 13 steps the other day. Although today he reached his personal worst and had his first fall down the steps (don't worry it was less than 13 steps). I think he may have slipped on some clothes that were strewn about on the steps. Hopefully he will avoid all future boobie-traps on the stairs.

He loves technology...
Proof that our little boy loves to get into the electronics. We are currently looking for an entertainment center with doors to house this stuff before he reconfigures all the settings in such a way so that we can never use our devices again. He has already reconfigured the receiver once and Jim had to spend like 30 minutes trying to figure out what he had done and fix it. It turned out good though because in the process of fixing it Jim figured out that we weren't using the receiver to its fullest capabilities.
Cole's on the move
The lil' stinker recently started crawling and looooves to get into the electronics, and just recently he started noticing the bows on the presents under the Christmas tree. He loves to nibble on the bows. It's cute.

Halloween Photo Shoot
In an effort to learn how to use my camera I decided to do a photo shoot with Cole on Halloween in his costume. I feel like I got some cute pictures of him, although let's be honest, he is so cute how could the pictures not turn out well. Some of my favorites.

Baby Genius?
Each morning I go downstairs to eat breakfast. Once I am down there I will put Cole in his little bouncy chair so that I am hands free for a few minutes. He doesn't mind but I do think he gets bored looking at the same hanging elephant, hippo and banana bunch everyday. When he was younger I attached some of those little toy rings to the banana part so that he would have something to grab. When I put him in the chair the other day there were four rings attached to each other and then onto the banana ring. But when I went to pick him up out of the chair this is what I found...
He had somehow removed one of the rings and placed it around the hippo while dropping the other three rings in his chair. How did he do that? I asked him and his response was a big smile that seemed to say to me "I'm glad you noticed my work".

Three Months Old
At this point I should probably just rename my blog "Everything About Cole", however, I really don't know how to do that. Plus, any future children that we have may be offended.
Although a few weeks late, I wanted to create a post about our little love-dove at three months old. Currently, his favorite things to do are; Suck on his hands (he loves the taste of baby), Eat, Sleep (he has become really good at it and recently started sleeping through the night, usually 9pm- 8am), Poop (he has a special fondness for the explosive variety), Slime people, Honk noses, Fart (they smell AWFUL), Smile, Talk, and just recently - Laughing (especially at his Aunt Brittany - he thinks she is hilarious)
We love this little boy so much. He has brought so much joy into our family and it is so exciting to see him learn new things each day. Here are some pictures I took of him on his three month birthday.

Before and After...Compilation
I was bored this morning because Kristin and Cole were sleeping, so I made this little video. I had to trim it way down because there were just too many good pictures!

Our Little Love-Dove

After many years of trying to have a baby we were finally blessed with the opportunity to have our own little bundle of joy. Although it has been a huge adjustment we love being mommy and daddy to our little guy. Cole was born May 16th, 2011 at 5:12 am. He was 8 lbs. 4 oz. and 20.5 inches long. I was great to have both Jim and my mom supporting me through the tough delivery.
Since we are brand new parents we were suckers and bought the overpriced photos that were taken at the hospital. Here are a few of them. I will soon be posting the photos that Jim's cousins wife, Ashley, recently took which are beautiful.

Disneyland- Summer 2010
This summer some of my family met in southern California for a few days of vacation. We went to Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, and the beach. Here are a few pictures from that weekend. Here is us at the start of the day.
This is my niece making sure that her Elmo doll is well fed. So cute!
We were having so much fun there was just no time for naps so Olivia would put her blanket on the ground and lay on it for a few seconds before getting up, moving the blanket around and laying down again. It was hilarious although she never ended up falling asleep.
We kept telling Olivia that this was a vacation for the adults as well as the kids so she would have to push her own stuff around. She didn't seem to mind.

Hawaii!
I know you have all been waiting a long time to see pictures and hear of our travels to the exotic paradise known as Hawaii. I am much obliged. Let me start off by apologizing for the poor picture quality. We forgot to bring a memory card for the camera but wanted to be able to take lots of pictures so we had to put them on low quality. Also just wanted to mention that we really didn't take as many pictures as we would have liked because we didn't want the camera to be at risk of either being stolen (which we hear is a big problem) or get wet. But here are a few pictures we did get.
Jim and I on our last day in Oahu. Outside is the beautiful view that greeted us each morning. We would leave the balcony door open all night long so that we could listen to the waves. So relaxing.
This picture is also from the balcony of our room. The beach you are looking at is Wakiki which is probably the most popular beach on Oahu. On one of the days we went snorkeling in the water and I was able to see some fish. For all those that have not been to Oahu, I would like to mention that the water in Hawaii is not nearly as warm as I thought it would be. Not quite as cold as Southern California water but not even close to how glorious the water temperature was in Mazatlan, Mexico.
Although it did rain often, the rain in Hawaii is not bad at all because it is warm. It kinda feels good. Up in the mountains of Oahu it rains like 300 inches of rain each year. There is less and less rain the closer you get to the coast. I thought the mountains looked beautiful when they were covered by the clouds.
On the Monday after we arrived, we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center. It was really interesting and we were able to see some pretty hilarious things, such as a Japanese man (chosen to come on stage for a show) flicking the nipple of this very large Tongan man that was leading the show. Maybe you had to be there but take my word, it was hilarious.
Anyway, while we were at the PCC they have this little tram that goes off of the site and takes you to the Temple and the BYU-Hawaii campus. The temple is closed for renovations but we were able to go to the visitors center and take a picture. It's very beautiful.
We were able to make it to Turtle Beach where we found this guy! Well we didn't actually find him but we did find the crowd that was surrounding him. Since they are protected by law you can't touch them or go close to them and anytime one lays on the beach there is a person there to put a red rope radius around which looky-loos aren't supposed to cross. It really takes the fun out of nature. But Jim was able to go into the water at this beach and was able to watch a HUGE turtle just eat away at the seaweed or algae or whatever water veggies he was eating. Jim was really excited to witness it.
I think we took this picture while driving. You can see the island that they call 'China-mans Hat'. It's a mystery as to why they named it this.
All in all it was a wonderful vacation that I was not excited to return from and look forward to going again sometime in the future.

Happy Birthday to Me!
As many of you may know last Wednesday was my birthday. Yes, I turned 28. Aggh. 30 is just around the corner. Boo. Anyway my favorite part of the day was coming home to find a big wrapped box. I went to open it and found myself with sticky hands. Jim had not been able to find any tape so he used a glue stick. Haha. I thought it was hilarious.

Anyway, I got through the wrapping paper and found that Jim had bought me a belgian waffle maker. The best part of the gift (after the glued wrapping paper) was Jim getting up early on Sunday morning to make us belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. Mmmmm. So good.
It was a pretty good birthday.

Valentine's Weekend
For Valentine's Day Jim prepared a special surprise... a trip to Laughlin, NV. Okay, so Laughlin is really not very fancy but it was actually really fun. My favorite part of the trip was the side trip to Oatman, Arizona. Oatman is an old mining town whose only reason for still being alive is the wild burros that come into town every day. The tourists come to the town to feed them carrots. Apparently they are the descendants of the mining donkeys earlier in the 1900's. Here is a picture of what greeted me when we arrived.

The baby burros get sticker on their heads so that they don't get fed the carrots (it gives them diarrhea).
Here's Jim with the baby burro. So cute!
